As a Senior Consultant at
Vital Wave Consulting, Amy Hanson manages research
projects focusing primarily on emerging-market
business strategies for Asia. In this capacity she
supervises a data-research team and provides the
analytical expertise for Vital Wave Consulting's
clients. Most recently, she has served as Project
Manager for several custom client projects covering
a wide range of functional practices, including
marketing and strategy, within the technology
sector. In these projects, she led a team of
consultants to perform segmentation analyses and
go-to-market strategies on behalf of multinational
technology corporations wishing to examine their
market potential within the software and
telecommunications industries.
With over 15 years of experience in global market
research and strategic planning, Ms. Hanson has
helped companies ranging in size from startups to
Fortune 100 firms grow their businesses by providing
them with critical market information and analysis.
Consulting with companies such as Visa, Inc.,
International Insight, King, Brown & Partners, Inc.,
and Microsoft, she has led a wide range of
consulting projects, developing market opportunity
assessments, business and product plans, strategic
plans, customer needs analyses, and due diligence
reports for companies in a variety of industries,
including technology, consumer products, financials
services, and healthcare.
Ms. Hanson has a specialty in Greater China business
development and speaks Mandarin Chinese. She has
extensive experience conducting market research and
business analysis to help technology clients seize
market opportunities in China. She also has deep
experience in conducting primary interviews with
technology users and decision-makers (consumer,
commercial and public sector interviewees). Ms.
Hanson holds an A.B. magna cum laude from Harvard
University.
