Karina Howell
Senior Consultant & Regional Expert (Brazil)

Karina Howell provides Vital Wave Consulting with expertise in both market research and product marketing. In her role as a senior consultant, Ms. Howell has written white papers and performed analyses on topics such as one-to-one computing in K-12 schools and go-to-market strategies for emerging markets. Prior to Vital Wave Consulting, Ms. Howell provided executives at Genesys Telecommunications with strategic recommendations on current and potential Genesys application areas based on market-sizing research. She also led a cross-functional team responsible for planning thought leadership and research projects. In addition, at Frost & Sullivan, Howell advised clients on product positioning strategy, forecasted market demand and analyzed and presented industry trends.

Prior to her career in the technology sector, Howell was social researcher at the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington D.C. and was an instructor for a federal job training program. As a Fulbright Scholar, she conducted anthropological field work on the Brazilian judicial system. She is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.

Howell holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of California at San Diego and her undergraduate degree in Politics was awarded by the University of California at Santa Cruz.
