Peter Lewis
Senior Consultant & Regional Expert (Africa and SEA)

Peter Lewis is an International Development and Management Information Systems and ICT Specialist with more than twenty years of cross-cultural management experience in the emerging markets of South East Asia and Africa. As a technologist and former educator, Mr. Lewis provides Vital Wave Consulting with deep expertise in Sub-saharan Africa and South East Asia, education solutions, and the design and sales of technology solutions in emerging markets.

Mr. Lewis’s in-depth field knowledge began as a rural high school teacher in northern Nigeria in the early 80s. While based in the Philippines and later Kenya, Mr.Lewis coordinated the implementation of Management Information Systems in more than a dozen Asian and African countries for PLAN International, a development NGO. He also established Systems Management Associates, an IT training and technical services company, based in Nairobi, Kenya and was engaged in a full-time services and representation agreement with Compaq Computer Corporation (later Hewlett-Packard). More recently, Mr. Lewis co-founded similar operations in Lagos, Nigeria, to host Compaq’s West Africa Operations, and subsequently served as General Manager, East and West for Hewlett-Packard.

Mr. Lewis holds a Master’s in International Administration at the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont and was awared his undergraduate degree in Geography from Bishop's University in Canada.
