Ricarda McFalls is an
International Management
and Business Development
specialist with more
than 20 years of global
IT industry experience,
with the past 12 years
of this experience in
Sub-Saharan Africa.
From 1985-2002, Ms. McFalls
served in various
international management
positions with Compaq
Computer Corporation
developing sales,
marketing, distribution
and subsidiary
operations in new and
emerging markets,
primarily in Europe,
Eastern Europe, and
Africa. Serving as
General Manager, East
and West Africa, she
established Compaq’s
operations in Nairobi,
Kenya and Lagos,
Nigeria. During this
period Ms. McFalls acquired
direct experience in
establishing, owning and
operating independent
companies that employed
up to 40 professionals
in Kenya and Nigeria;
and grew Compaq’s
regional business from
$500,000 to more than
$50 Million.
In 2003, Ms. McFalls formed
a joint venture with
Mustek Limited, South
Africa’s largest PC
company, and established
assembly operations for
Mecer computers in East
Africa, where she served
as Managing Director.
Ms.
McFalls holds an MBA in
International Management
from the American
Graduate School of
International Management
(Thunderbird) and
Bachelor’s degrees in
Business Economics and
German from the
University of
California, Santa
Barbara. She is
currently pursuing a
Master’s Degree in
Sustainable Development
and Planning from
Stellenbosch University,
