At Vital Wave Consulting, Mr. Saldarriaga assists clients in the areas of strategic planning, business growth and strategic management, with a focus on ICT in emerging markets. Ricardo Saldarriaga joins Vital Wave Consulting after a successful career of executive management including two roles as a turn-around CEO for leading technology and communications companies.

Previously, Mr. Saldarriaga served as Managing Partner of Avance Juridico Ltd, a startup data services company where he applied his entrepreneurial skills to develop and implement the company’s strategic expansion plan.
Mr. Saldarriaga was also the President & CEO of Computec S.A., a leading Data Services company and Credit Reporting agency, and of TV Cable S.A., a leading Latin American broadband Internet and cable provider.
In these roles, he was responsible for redefining the long term strategic position and brand identity while generating double and triple-digit growth and optimizing profitability.

Prior to this, Mr. Saldarriaga was the Executive Vice President of Operations for Grupo Filmtex S.A., a multi-national specialty plastics manufacturer. In this role he was responsible for spearheading the company’s international expansion. He led the creation of subsidiaries in Ecuador and Puerto Rico, acquired competitors in Venezuela, established a distribution network for all major markets in South and Central America, and secured financing for capital investments. His initiatives increased international revenues six-fold to $50M, contributing to 100% overall sales growth in 3 years. Mr. Saldarriaga also held various executive roles at Grupo Filmtex and started his career as financial analyst with Bavaria S.A. and Esso Inter-America.

Mr. Saldarriaga holds a Master’s degree in International Business Studies from the University of South Carolina, attended Harvard University’s extension program and has extensive training in executive coaching.
His undergraduate degree in business administration is from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, Colombia. A native of Colombia, Mr. Saldarriaga brings extensive Latin American business expertise and over 20 years of strategic planning and management experience to Vital Wave Consulting.
